Netherlands U19 youngster Matthew Mparaganda’s comment sparks speculation on his Zimbabwe future

Feyenoord youngster Matthew Mparaganda has sparked speculation over his Zimbabwe future after dropping a telling comment on social media.

The Netherlands-born prospect appeared to suggest that he could be joining the Young Warriors after commenting on Takudzwa Gwanzura’s Instagram post featuring the Zimbabwe U23 squad.

Mparaganda simply replied “Soon” to the post before sharing it on his own Instagram story, accompanied by an ice-cold emoji.

The 18-year-old midfielder, who is currently part of the Netherlands U19 set, is eligible to represent Zimbabwe through his parents and could potentially strengthen the Young Warriors squad as they continue their campaign in the AFCON U23 qualifiers.

He has been on the books of Dutch giants Feyenoord and is regarded as one of the young prospects in their system.

However, Mparaganda is yet to officially confirm his international allegiance, with his social media activity currently the only indication of a possible move towards representing Zimbabwe.
