The Zimbabwe national team has slipped back to 130th in the latest unofficial FIFA rankings despite gaining points during the extended international break.
The Warriors played two matches during the window, winning their opening game 3-2 against Sierra Leone in the AFCON 2027 qualifiers Group E.
The result earned Zimbabwe enough ranking points to move up four places to 126th.
After the second match, a 2-1 defeat to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe’s position remained at 126th in the provisional rankings, with the Warriors gaining a net eight points from the two matches to take their tally to 1128.05 points.
With Zimbabwe having no further matches during the extended window to add to that tally, other teams around them played and earned more points, gradually moving above the Warriors.
That has pushed Zimbabwe back down to 130th in the provisional rankings.
The latest ranking is unofficial, with the official FIFA rankings set to be announced on Wednesday following the conclusion of the international window.
