Captain Corbin Mthunzi among four players excluded from Young Warriors’ travelling squad for return fixture against Mauritius

Captain Corbin Mthunzi is among four players who were excluded from the Young Warriors’ travelling squad for the return fixture against Mauritius.

Zimbabwe travelled to Mauritius with a 20-man squad ahead of the second leg of their Olympic qualifiers, scheduled for October 6.

Mthunzi, who captained the Young Warriors in the first leg, returned to his club Ipswich Town and was therefore unavailable for the trip.

Highlanders midfielder Prince Ndlovu missed out due to injury, while Junior Meya of Hunters and UK-based forward Kennedy Mupomba also dropped out of the squad.

The Young Warriors carry a 2-0 advantage into the second leg after goals from David Chigwada and Nisbert Muzenda secured victory in the first leg in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe will progress to the next round to face Mali if they successfully defend their advantage over Mauritius.
